Runners & Superfans,

We are looking for some great parents and superfans to help us at this weekend’s “Fellows Lake 5000” cross country meet.  Currently we have 28 schools registered to attend and this means we will need lots of help.

In an effort to get things more organized we will be hosting a parent and runners dinner at Fellows Lake on Friday night at 6 pm.  Please meet us at the inlet pavilion for pasta & salad and to get signed up for a job.  All the jobs are very easy and none of them require any running.  We will need people to help with parent parking, coach registration and bus parking, selling tshirts and handing out popsicles, & the ultimate experience of working the finish line.  Like I said, all the jobs are very easy but we need the people there to help. All runners and volunteers will need to be at Fellows Lake at 7 am on Saturday morning.  Runners will need to check in with Coach Clements when they get there.

Should you not be able to join us on Friday please feel free to email me at or text me at 417-379-6764 and I will get you signed up.

You can also receive all this information by email by signing up to follow us at:

Thank you for supporting your child in cross country and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

Parent Help at Concession Stand

Posted: August 16, 2016 in Uncategorized

Runners & Superfans,

This Friday the cross country team is looking for some parents to help work the booster club concession stand at the football game.  We are needing approximately 10 jr. high parents to work the first half and 10 high school parents to work the second half.  The work is very easy and there are booster club volunteers to help start us out and to take care of any problems.

The concession stand is the major fundraiser for the booster club and they ask the parents of each sport to take a turn at helping out at the football games.  They have been very generous to the cross country team over the years, so let’s show them our appreciation by lending a hand.

Please email me or have your child let me know if you are willing to help.

Runners & Superfans,

The “Jog for a Hog 5K” on August 12th has been canceled due to weather concerns.  Thanks for your help and feel free to spread the word.

Jog for a Hog August 12th

Posted: July 21, 2016 in Uncategorized

Runners & Superfans,

This year’s “Jog for a Hog” 5K will be held on Friday August 12th at 7 pm and will start and finish at Strafford High School.  “Jog for a Hog” is our annual fundraiser for the team and it takes everyone’s help to make it a success.  Cross country runners will need to donate a bag of cookies and some fruit for the race, which will be used as snacks for the participants. In addition to the donation, I am asking that runners please be here to either run or volunteer for the race.  The most important thing that any of us can do is spread the word about the race and get as many people here and donating as possible.  This race is actually free for all participants and we just ask  for donations to help support the team.  The more people we can get here then the more donations we are likely to draw. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  I’m looking forward to a great cross country season and this would be a perfect way to kick off the year.

Thanks for your support of Strafford XC,

Duane Fabro

Parents & Superfans,
The cross country team has a great opportunity to raise some money by volunteering at a race this Saturday, July 9th, being held in Strafford. The race titled “Sweatfest” is being sponsored by the Ozark Mountain Ridge Runners running club and is a 10 mile, 5 mile, & 2 mile race event.
They are needing adult volunteers to help at aid/water stations for the runners out on the course and our students will be helping at the start and finish. The race starts and ends at Landmark church in Strafford and will begin at 8 pm in the evening. Volunteers will need to plan on being available from 7 pm to 11 pm and will need to bring a flashlight or light device with them.
This is a great opportunity for the team to receive a donation as well as encourage running in the Strafford area. Please let me know if you are willing to volunteer and help the team out.

You can call or text me @ 417-379-6764 or email me back.

Thanks for your help,
Duane Fabro
